Description
Not much beats Umbria in September. As the warm summer sun continues to kiss the skin, it’s an unexpected pleasure to find your hand back in the t-shirt draw.
In September 2012 Ben Saul returns for his 3rd year of Singing Holidays. Warm, ultra talented, cheeky and more fun than sucking out the contents of a helium balloon, Ben brings his own highly musical and creative expertise to a wonderful week of sacred singing.
Ernesto will be welcoming us to his most wonderful, family run rural hotel set in the countryside around the beautiful walled town of Norcia.
The Casale degli Amici is a perfect base for our week’s stay. There’s a real sense of Italy here from the home produced and cooked food to the rural Italian décor. Neither Ernesto nor his family speak much English so we’ll truly be living, breathing and hearing Italy from day one.
Our days will consist of a morning Breath BodyWork session with Témi followed by an invigorating rehearsal with Ben at the helm. We’ll then be off for a lovely lunch in a spectacular setting followed by a cultural trip or walk in nature.
The holiday will culminate in a low key (low stress) concert and we will be taking every opportunity throughout the week to sing in some wonderful locations, be it in a cathedral, a Benedictine abbey, a church, a UNESCO world heritage site or even outside amongst the incredible flora and fauna.
Casale Degli Amici
Situated in one of the most beautiful and hidden locations in Umbria, Fonte Antica will be our base for the week. Run by two brothers, Paulo and Giovanni and their sister, Elisabetta, Fonta Antica stands out as an exceptional home that has been in their family for 200 years.
The accommodation is stunning. They have managed to create a rural hotel steeped in history that is a brilliant mix of warm, authentic and boutique.
Situated within the Sibillini National Park, Fonte Antica’s clean mountain air and mineral water gushing Roman fountain create the perfect ambience in which to recharge your batteries and unwind with a spot of group singing!
Elisabetta’s home made food at Fonte Antica is always exceptional and with it’s vaulted ceiling and opened fire the dinning room is intimate, stylish and warm.
Your room, as always will be fully en-suite and is furnished simply but beautifully.

SingingWorks July 2012
13th July – 20th July 2012
SingingWorks is unique. It is the culmination of 3 skill sets: Singing, Physicality and Breath Bodywork. Matt (an actor who’s recent credits include the character of ‘Joey’ in the critically acclaimed West End production of War Horse), Témi (British Wheel of Yoga teacher and singer) and Alex (singer, singing teacher and director) met 20 years ago at the Guildhall School of Music & Drama and have since collaborated on many projects both within education and production.
