After a fantastically successful week last July, Robert Dean is back with us in sunny Umbria for another instalment of sacred singing.
Former conductor of the London Chorus and the London Philharmonia Chorus, Robert brings a wealth of knowledge, experience and energy to this holiday week.
Robert is a professor of singing at London’s Guildhall School of Music and Drama and a vocal coach at the UK National Opera Studio. As a consequence we’ll be delving a little deeper into vocal technique on this Singing Holiday and taking full advantage of Robert’s expertise.
This promises to be an uplifting week. After a morning Breath BodyWork session with Témi we’ll move straight into our vocal warm up with Robert, segueing seamlessly into our morning rehearsal.
After a much-deserved lunch in a stunning location we’ll be off on ‘holiday mode’, either venturing out into the mountains for an inspirational walk amongst the incredible late spring/early summer wild flowers or taking in some of the many cultural wonders of the region. We may even be sneaking into a few UNESCO world heritage sites and stunning churches for a bit of a singsong along the way!
Time allowing, we will have a short evening rehearsal just prior to our aperitivi and gastronomic feast of a dinner. Arguably we are in the best area in Italy for cured meat, pecorino, truffles and mushrooms!
Fonte Antica
Situated in one of the most beautiful and hidden locations in Umbria, Fonte Antica will be our base for the week. Run by two brothers, Paulo and Giovanni and their sister, Elisabetta, Fonta Antica stands out as an exceptional home that has been in their family for 200 years.
The accommodation is stunning. They have managed to create a rural hotel steeped in history that is a brilliant mix of warm, authentic and boutique.
Situated within the Sibillini National Park, Fonte Antica’s clean mountain air and mineral water gushing Roman fountain create the perfect ambience in which to recharge your batteries and unwind with a spot of group singing!
Elisabetta’s home made food at Fonte Antica is always exceptional and with it’s vaulted ceiling and opened fire the dinning room is intimate, stylish and warm.
Your room, as always will be fully en-suite and is furnished simply but beautifully.

This is where you’ll be able to download your part (your vocal line) as a music file (MP3) and then upload it to your ipod or computer so you can hum along to it at your leisure.

We’ll be staying in unique and exceptional accommodation within the National Park, living in beautifully simple & extremely comfortable peasant houses where the only concession to authenticity is the underfloor heating and luxury bathrooms. We can live with that!
