There’s nothing quite like singing when it comes to nurturing old or discovering new friendships. As we come out of a worldwide pandemic and push into an uncertain future for the planet, it’s important to us to hold on to our values and create new events that are – above all – sustainable and meaningful.
Coming on a Singing Holiday for the first time is a big deal. You don’t know us and you don’t know how vulnerable you might feel singing in a small group. Although you might fancy the notion of singing on a holiday, we appreciate that it’s a big commitment, both emotionally and financially.
That’s why we (Alex and Témi) are on every single Singing Holiday. Of course, we’re there to make sure things run like clockwork, but more than that, we’re there to help you find your voice (literally and metaphorically). From the moment you touch down, we’ll be there to welcome you and make you feel at ease. Naturally, we look after the group as a whole, but in doing so, we never forget that a group is a collection of individuals.
The essence of Singing Holidays is friendship. If Singing Holidays was a cake, then the ingredients would be: singing, great teaching, a small group, wonderful food and a splash of wine. Place it all in the oven for 5 or 7 nights (depending on the cake) and out pops friendship.
The little things
We love the little touches that bring a smile to a face or prolong a memory. They’re just little moments, but in many ways, they’re the reason we do what we do. Someone once said, ‘Enjoy the little things, for one day you’ll look back and realize they were the big things’. So true.
Now, this is what makes it all tick. Small groups are everything. Yes, it means that Singing Holidays aren’t the cheapest. Yes, it means we can’t scale our business and make oodles of money. Quite frankly, though, life’s too short for any of that stuff.
As far as we’re concerned, it’s all about the experience and the friendships you discover on the way. A small group opens doors on little gems that would otherwise be inaccessible.
We’re on a mission to make Singing Holidays more sustainable and less environmentally impactful. Whether it’s recycling, taking eco alternative transport, reducing printed media etc — we try to minimise carbon output and reduce waste at source, within the day-to-day running of our business.
However, we want to make a bigger difference, and become a genuinely sustainable business. Therefore, through our new collaboration with the World Land Trust, we’re buying land to ensure a future for wildlife, and at the same time, we’re protecting and restoring carbon-rich habitats.
In addition, we’re putting something back into the earth every time you come on one of our holidays. For each holiday you book, we plant a tree on your behalf. As a rule of thumb, this one tree will offset 50% of a round trip flight from the UK to Italy.
In combination with our carbon balance project through the WLT and our annual ‘buy an acre’ commitment, we will be contributing to global reforestation, restoring lost woodland, repairing damaged ecosystems and mitigating climate change.
When you come on a Singing Holiday, you can do so in the knowledge that your holiday will be carbon balanced. Our ambition is to give back more than we take. To preserve and nourish our precious eco-system while protecting wildlife.

I want to sing like the birds sing, not worrying about who hears or what they think.
