7 nights staying in a luxury Trulli (a genuinely unique, conical structure indigenous to Puglia), singing each morning within a small group of like-minded people, experiencing morning yoga as the sun rises over thousands of olive trees with the Adriatic in the distance and eating the most healthy and delicious food Italy can muster from it’s already packed and scrumptious pantry does sound almost too good to be true. The thing is, there’s even more to this Singing Retreat in Puglia than any list can convey.
Maybe it’s the accommodation, staying as you are in your own private slice of dreamy luxury or perhaps it’s sipping that seemly tastier Gin and Tonic while watching the sunset, or maybe it’s the singing and connection one gets from being in an intimate group of just 9. Whatever it is, there is a certain magic that springs from the fertile ground of a Singing Retreat – something that comes from the music, the location, from the food, from Italy itself or perhaps it’s from the warmth and intimate connection between people who just LOVE to sing.
Unique, private & luxurious
Inside: accommodation at Trulli Andrea is spread over two immaculately restored sets of Trulli. Both have a light, and airy feel and both are furnished with considerable style and attention to detail. The main entrance of the first set of Trulli takes one into a large dining area with vaulted stone ceilings and a beautiful table seating 12. Two wide arches lead from this space to the excellent kitchen, which overlooks the pool area, a series of sitting areas furnished with design pieces and comfy sofas, and a study. The master double bedroom, which has views of the pool, is accessed via a corridor leading from the study, while the other two bedrooms, a double and a double/twin are accessed from the dining area. All three bedrooms have beautifully finished en-suite shower rooms, and the double/twin has its own access to the surrounding terraces.
The second set of Trulli, situated about 40m from the first, is very similar in style and layout.
The main entrance takes one into a large open plan space, which includes a dining area with table seating 10, and two well-articulated living areas, one with a designer fireplace, and a smaller one with a pair of deep sofas and a wall-mounted TV. A small corridor leads from this area leads to the sleeping quarters, which comprise a master double suite with en-suite shower room, a second double bedroom, also with en-suite shower room, and a double/twin bedroom, whose shower room is accessed from near the dining room.
Outside: Trulli Andrea sits on a hilltop at the centre of a 2.5-hectare olive estate. This lofty position affords guests not only sweeping 360-degree vistas of the Valle d’Itria’s wooded hills but total privacy too. The houses are set amongst a broad expanse of manicured lawns, which are crisscrossed by paths, peppered with olive trees and delimited by large areas of stone-flagged terraces. But Trulli Andrea’s genuinely unique feature is its mirrored sets of outdoor amenities. Each house has a splendid pool (one of which has an infinity edge and a Jacuzzi corner), a comfortably furnished sitting area and a dreamy al fresco dining area.

EVERYTHING was done well. Nothing was too much trouble for Alex and Temi. The whole experience was really enjoyable and left me feeling so happy.I can’t wait to go on my next singing holiday!
'A memorable holiday!'
Singing by the beautiful Weißensee with the warm and hugely talented Unthanks delivered all that I’ve come to expect from holidays with Alex and Temi: a lovely setting, infectious good humour and the pleasure of music-making led by exceptional and delightful musicians. Throw into the mix an evening performance with local singers leading to a laughter-filled exchange of songs stretching into the wee hours and I’m left with memories of one of the most joyful experiences of my musical life.
Small is beautiful
We think it’s the little things in life that matter the most. That’s why we only take small groups on our singing holidays. We want you to eat in tiny restaurants where mamma still cooks the food and stay in cosy, exquisite nests that feel like home.
We want you to get the maximum from every opportunity – from the incredibly talented professionals who teach you right through to the inspirational performance spaces that might otherwise be inaccessible.
A small group allows us to focus on the little details that can make all the difference and on you as an individual rather than just a face in the crowd. Most importantly though, a small group engenders a warmth and intimate connection between ‘friends’ who just LOVE to sing.
